Medical Technology
The cluster of companies specialized in medical technology, pharmacy and health care is rapidly expanding, supported by a sophisticated life science sector. Many companies benefit from research and knowledge from the Animal Science Group in Lelystad as well as from other institutes or universities and academic hospitals in nearby cities as Amsterdam, Utrecht and Groningen.
Areas of activity include immune therapy, innovative wound treatment, medicines and pharmaceutical tablets, scientific analysis and diagnoses on personal functioning, cancer vaccines and the development of medical diagnosis using intelligent software.
Flevoland has a number of locations for businesses in medical technology, pharmaceuticals and related activities. A dedicated Medical Trade Park is under development in Almere while Lelystad Airport is developing a Medical Air Terminal.

Immuno Valley comprises a consortium of life-science knowledge institutions, local and regional governments together with several small and multinational enterprises (human and animal Pharma). The core-competencies of all of its participants, represent a complete spectre of key knowledge, state of the art facilities and top-rated research. - Medical Technology Centre (Dutch)
