Expanding Flevoland

In general, the economic crisis put a dent in the growth numbers, but still Flevoland had an increase of employment by at least two percent annual. Each year, Flevoland allocates double digit numbers of business sites to companies, while in recent years, high numbers of office space have been sold or rented annually. Property rates in Flevoland are some 50% lower than those in the center of nearby Amsterdam.

    • The total number of businesses has almost tripled in 25 years to well over 32,000.
    • Together, these foreign companies employ more than 10,500 people in Flevoland.
    • In general the economic crisis put a dent in the growth numbers, but still Flevoland had an increase of employment by at least two percent annual.
    • Over 270,000 sq meters of commercial property developments and some 160,000 sq meters of office space are also available.
    • Each year, Flevoland allocates double digit numbers of business sites to companies, while in recent years fast numbers of office space have been sold or rented annually. Prices generally are some 50 percent lower compared to the centre of nearby Amsterdam.
    • In order to meet the changing demands of companies, Flevoland is constantly updating and expanding its business locations.
